I was one of the founding students of the team in 2013, and the mentorship I received along the way fundamentally shaped who I am today. I owe much of my growth to the mentors who believed in me, challenged me, and showed me what was possible. Since 2020, I’ve been honored to give back as the lead mechanical design and fabrication mentor. My mission is to inspire the next generation by showing that STEM is not only powerful and impactful, but genuinely fun—and to be the mentor I once needed, for students who are just beginning their journey.
As a founding member of the Robo Dominators since 2013, Prathamesh (“Prat”) Patil is a mechanical engineer with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of New Haven, along with doctoral-level experience at the University of Connecticut. His time as a student on the Robo Dominators remains one of the most meaningful educational experiences of his STEM journey. Being part of the team fostered a deep sense of belonging, technical curiosity, and personal growth that ultimately guided him toward a career in mechanical engineering. Today, Prat continues to give back as a dedicated volunteer mentor, supporting students in mechanical design and specialized engineering topics. Despite a long commute from Massachusetts, his commitment to the team reflects his belief in the transformative power of hands‑on STEM education and the community it builds.
Jordan started with FIRST in FLL in 2014 where he helped coach for 5 years before switching to FRC. He was a mentor on FRC 8085 for 5142 team strategy, acting as Drive Coach while also helping with Java Programming. Going back to FLL, Jordan coined the "Build in Place" approach - a focus on architecting and testing your mechanisms with accurate representations of actual game pieces - a passion that has him always pushing the team to build bigger and better practice fields.
I'm a new mentor to the team and excited about the growth and potential of Robodominators. I’ve spent over 24 years in youth services, building leadership development programs and working with individual students and families. Prior to that, I worked in Promotions Marketing on accounts for Nabisco and Dryers Ice Cream. When not helping with the FRC robots, I'm helping with the smashing destructive ones. Let’s Dominate and make 5142 a household name!
